Solid Fuel Stoker-Fired Front-Furnace Steam Boiler

Stoker-fired steam boilers that burn solid fuels such as coal, olive pomace, pellets and hazelnut shells at high efficiency, reaching higher capacities up to 10 t/h with the addition of a front furnace.

Solid Fuel Stoker-Fired Front-Furnace Steam Boiler

As liquid and gas fuel prices rise, businesses are turning to solid fuel to reduce their fuel costs. Alongside conventional fuels like coal and wood, the use of biomass such as olive pomace, pellets and hazelnut shells is increasing.

For solid fuels to be used in boilers for steam production and operated successfully for years, the steam boiler must be specially designed for solid fuel.

Solid Fuel Steam Boiler Design

With 50 years of manufacturing experience, İtimat Kazan focuses on customer needs to produce high-efficiency, stoker-fired solid-fuel steam boilers.

Heaton® stoker-fired steam boilers are computer-aided, three-pass designs, built to achieve high efficiency and get maximum benefit from the heat released by combustion.

The furnace (combustion chamber) is manufactured at a sufficient volume to ensure complete combustion. As a result of good combustion, all resulting gases are burned. Thanks to the special furnace design, no unburned hydrocarbons remain, so the flue gas is not visible to the eye. A well-designed furnace achieves high, environmentally responsible efficiency.

Thanks to the excellent heat insulation of the boiler body, heat efficiency values are maximized while standby losses are kept to a minimum.

In the design of the solid-fuel stoker-fired steam boiler, water and steam volumes are calculated optimally, and the original design achieves a steam dryness fraction of 100%.

A sufficient steam volume responds well to sudden steam demand.

The solid-fuel stoker-fired steam boiler is manufactured with EN 10028 P355 GH special boiler plate and EN 10216-2 P235 GH seamless drawn boiler tube, certified to TSE and CE under the PED 2014/68/EU European Pressure Equipment Directive. Boiler tube sheets have flanged edges.

Heaton® Stoker-Fired Steam Boilers are kept under control with steam temperature, flue gas temperature, high-pressure and minimum water-level safety devices.

Adding a burner allows gas and liquid fuel to also be burned.

Automatic Coal-Firing Stoker

Specially designed to burn every type of coal (0.5-40 mm) as well as solid fuels such as olive pomace, pellets, hazelnut shells and apricot pits at high efficiency.

The firing pot is manufactured from thick, high-temperature-resistant boiler plate and chrome-alloy cast material.

Fully automatic combustion is achieved according to steam pressure. When the steam pressure reaches the set value, the blower fan stops and combustion halts. This feature prevents deformation of the coal-loading screw and saves fuel.

Its use in large-capacity steam boilers, where manual loading is difficult, also delivers fuel economy.

With its specially designed soot collector, flue gas emission values comply with the "Regulation on the Control of Industrial Air Pollution," keeping particulate matter at a maximum of 150 mg/Nm3, CO at a maximum of 200 mg/Nm3, and SO2 at a maximum of 2,000 mg/Nm3.

Heaton® Front-Furnace Steam Boiler

Stoker-loaded steam boilers can produce a maximum of 4,000 kg/h of steam. To produce steam at a higher rate (10 t/h), a front furnace is required.

As the name suggests, the front furnace is mounted in front of the steam boiler. It is manufactured from EN 10216-2 grade, European-origin seamless drawn boiler tube.

The front furnace is designed and manufactured at a volume that ensures efficient fuel combustion. Built to allow the flue gases produced by combustion to pass into the steam boiler, the front furnace is surrounded by a water wall. Most of the heat generated by burning solid fuel is transferred to this water wall by radiation. This achieves both highly efficient fuel combustion and additional heat transfer and capacity increase for the boiler.

The front furnace is manufactured with a grate or a stoker. Fire doors are provided to control the resulting flame.

It is delivered integrated with a soot collector and flue at the customer's request.

The strength and thermal calculations of front-furnace boilers are specially carried out with computer-aided applications before every manufacturing run, drawing on 50 years of experience and know-how.
