Our History

The foundations of our company, today exporting under the Heaton brand to 60 countries across 4 continents, were laid when mechanical engineer Vural Onan founded İtimat Kazan ve Makine Sanayi in Istanbul in 1976.

From that day to this, the single goal of İtimat Kazan's technical team has been to offer quality products capable of years of trouble-free service.

Vural Onan, who first worked as a manufacturing engineer in the steel-goods sector, began carrying out technical inspections of boilers and flue systems for his father-in-law, who supplied coal to apartment buildings and businesses, after complaints that those boilers were not running efficiently. He presented boiler owners with revision reports addressing the deficiencies he found. The improvements that followed increased boiler efficiency; driven by that success and the sector's needs, he began designing new, high-efficiency boilers suited to the country's low-calorie lignite coal.

In 1976 he founded İtimat Kazan ve Makine Sanayi to manufacture these designs. Particularly from 1980 onward, during the period when fuel-oil-fired boilers were being converted to coal, his designs contributed to the national economy.

To further develop his designs, he carried out research in Switzerland and Germany, producing boiler designs to European standards.

With this mission, together with İtimat Kazan's technical team, high-efficiency, long-lasting boilers suited to the natural gas that came into use in Turkey in the early 1990s were brought into the manufacturing program.

Energy efficiency is a priority both for economic development and for the fight against climate change. Increasing fuel savings and reducing emissions and dependence on energy imports bring significant economic and ecological sustainability benefits. Although many steps have already been taken worldwide to capture these benefits, much more remains to be done.

İtimat Kazan ve Makine San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. began operating in Istanbul in 1976 as a project and manufacturing company serving the needs of the heat and energy sector. From day one, the single goal of İtimat Kazan's technical team has been to offer customers quality products capable of years of trouble-free service. In line with this goal, we have built our own sales and after-sales technical support services.

İtimat Kazan's mission is to build economic heat awareness among end users, contributing to the conservation of energy and natural resources. Rather than simply selling products, İtimat Kazan brings together products that work in harmony to create systems, and delivers them to the sector as ready-engineered packages.

We provide technical support for project design as well as materials and products for newly established factories. Projects are generally turnkey, since the systems we produce are built and commissioned under our own supervision, with periodic inspection of systems already in operation. Our products are manufactured to TSE, DIN, BS and ASME standards. Heaton products are in trouble-free service in 60 countries across 4 continents.

İtimat Kazan ve Makine Sanayi's manufacturing program covers domestic and industrial heat appliances and pressure vessels from 20,000 kcal/h to 12,000,000 kcal/h, and from 0.5 bar to 20 bar.
