THERMAL OIL BOILER AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

  • The thermal oil boiler must be a three-pass, cylindrical, horizontal-type unit manufactured from interlocked spiral-form seamless steel boiler tube. It must be designed and manufactured in compliance with TS EN 12952 and EN standards, and TSE certified. A CE certificate alone is not sufficient.
  • Oil-side pressure drop must not exceed 25 mWC (meters of water column).
  • Coil tubes must be seamless drawn steel, DIN 17175 - St.35.8 / P235GH, of certified European origin.
  • Tube certificates and TSE quality certificates must be submitted to the operator before manufacturing.
  • Coil welds must be carried out with argon welding.
  • The boiler body must be manufactured from P265GH boiler plate compliant with EN 10028.
  • After manufacturing, the coils must be tested at 40 bar pressure and documented with a report.
  • Thermal oil design temperature must be 300°C.
  • The boiler's thermal efficiency must be at least 85%.
  • Seamless steel elbows and welding-neck flanges must be used on boiler connections; all connections must use materials rated at least PN25.
  • After manufacturing, the boiler body must be insulated with 100 mm rock wool and 1 mm thick galvanized or aluminum sheet.
  • The boiler must have an explosion door connected directly to the combustion chamber.
  • Spheroidal graphite cast-iron valves rated at least PN25 must be used on the boiler and its piping.
  • Flange gaskets used must be graphite and wire-reinforced.
  • There must be two oil circulation pumps, air-cooled, with cast-steel bodies and mechanical seals.
  • Expansion joints must be used on pump connections.
  • Flanges and valves used must be PN25.
  • A degasser of sufficient volume to capture gas must be used in the thermal oil system and connected to the boiler and piping.
  • An expansion tank of sufficient volume to accommodate the expanding oil must be used in the thermal oil system, delivered connected to the piping in the boiler room along with its fittings and a 6-meter-long platform.
  • The oil storage tank must have a capacity at least equal to the oil contained in the boiler and piping, and must be manufactured from boiler plate.
  • A gear pump, complete with valves and piping, must be installed on the system for filling oil.
  • A long-barrel, modulating gas burner must be used for the thermal oil boiler.
  • The boiler control panel must be enclosed, dust-proof, PLC-controlled and touchscreen.
  • Oil inlet/outlet temperatures must be readable and adjustable from the panel.

The control panel must include the following safety features

  • Oil outlet temperature
  • Oil inlet temperature
  • Flue gas temperature
  • Oil flow safety sensor
  • Expansion tank level sensor and safety

BOILER SAFETY AND AUTOMATIC CONTROL COMPONENTS

  • Thermal oil outlet temperature thermometer (digital)
  • Thermal oil return temperature thermometer (digital)
  • Thermal oil outlet temperature function thermostat
  • Thermal oil outlet temperature safety thermostat
  • Flue gas thermostat and thermometer (digital)
  • Expansion tank level control
  • Flow control device

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a thermal oil boiler technical specification cover?

A thermal oil boiler technical specification covers TS EN 12952- and TSE-certified design, coil tube material (seamless steel, argon welding), a 40 bar test pressure, a 300°C design temperature, thermal efficiency of at least 85%, oil circulation pump and expansion tank specifications, degasser and oil storage tank requirements, and a PLC-controlled control panel with automatic safety equipment (thermometers, thermostats, flow control device).
