Steam Generators
Unfired Steam Generator
Added to facilities with a thermal oil boiler, the Heaton® Unfired Steam Generator produces safe, low-cost steam up to 10 bar operating pressure with no need for a flue or fuel tank.

The steam needs of businesses that use thermal oil as a heating fluid in their systems are met economically by an unfired steam generator added to the system.
With unfired steam generators, steam can be produced safely and at low cost, in various capacities, up to an operating pressure of 10 bar.
Design, manufacturing and testing are approved under the 2014/68/EU European Pressure Equipment Directive.
Unfired steam generators produce steam safely with no need for a flue or fuel tank. They can be positioned as a package unit in the most suitable location, close to the steam-using equipment in the system.
Because their size and water volume are small, standby heat losses are very low. They produce economical steam in a short time. Being of horizontal design, they take up less space than equivalent-capacity steam boilers.
The unit is manufactured as a package on a single chassis, comprising the generator body, a 3-way motorized thermal-oil valve for temperature and pressure control, a condensate tank, a feedwater pump, a level indicator, an electrical control panel, a water softener, and the necessary fittings and safety valves.
A large evaporation area and a separator fitted at the steam outlet produce dry steam.
Thanks to the manhole at the rear, cleaning, inspection and maintenance can be carried out easily without removing the coil.
The evaporator coils are manufactured from imported seamless drawn boiler tube. The spacing between coil tubes is kept generous, which increases heat transfer and prevents limescale buildup between the tubes.
Completed generator bodies are tested at 1.5 times operating pressure under hydraulic pressure.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an unfired steam generator and how does it work?
It is a generator that economically meets the steam needs of businesses using thermal oil as a heating fluid, added directly into the system. Since it has no combustion system of its own, it produces steam with no need for a flue or fuel tank.
Up to what pressure does an unfired steam generator produce steam?
Steam can be produced safely and at low cost, in various capacities, up to an operating pressure of 10 bar.
What equipment does an unfired steam generator include?
The generator body, a 3-way motorized thermal-oil valve for temperature and pressure control, a condensate tank, a feedwater pump, a level indicator, an electrical control panel, a water softener, and the necessary fittings and safety valves, all manufactured as a package on a single chassis.
How is an unfired steam generator maintained?
Thanks to the manhole at the rear, cleaning, inspection and maintenance can be carried out easily without removing the coil.
