Heat Exchangers

Heat Exchangers

Transferring heat energy between two fluids at different temperatures, Heaton® heat exchangers are built to withstand high pressures and temperatures with a flexible, robust design suited to every application.

Heat Exchangers

Heat exchangers are devices that transfer heat energy between two fluids at different temperatures.

Heat exchangers fall into 4 basic classes based on the geometry of their surfaces and their heat-transfer method.

  • Tubular heat exchangers
  • Plate heat exchangers
  • Extended-surface heat exchangers (finned-tube exchangers)
  • Regenerative heat exchangers
  • Can be designed and manufactured to operate at very high pressures.
  • Have an extremely flexible and robust design.
  • Can be designed and manufactured to operate at very high and very low temperatures.
  • Resistant to thermal shock.
  • No size limitation.
  • Can be used in every application.
  • Pressure losses are kept to a minimum and can be kept at the minimum level suited to the process purpose.
  • Can be easily disassembled and reassembled for maintenance, repair and cleaning.
  • Easy to maintain and repair.
  • Since they are manufactured entirely from materials readily available on the domestic market, there are no spare-part or gasket supply issues.
  • Larger in size, weight and footprint than plate exchangers.
  • Tube diameter, tube count, tube length, tube pitch and tube layout can all be varied. This gives considerable flexibility in the design of tubular heat exchangers.
  • Tubular heat exchangers can be designed and manufactured as double-tube, multi-tube, helical or spiral-tube types.
