Deaerator
Dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide entering the system with boiler feedwater cause corrosion; Heaton® Deaerator systems remove these gases from the water with TS EN 13445-compliant package solutions.

In steam boilers, dissolved O2 and CO2 gases enter the system together with the boiler feedwater.
Oxygen (O2) is present, dissolved, in both air and fresh boiler feedwater. Water very readily picks up oxygen when it comes into contact with air.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) forms as a result of the breakdown, under temperature and pressure, of the hardness-forming materials (carbonates) that create the temporary hardness of raw water, or that change in character after softening.
These gases cause corrosion in steam-using equipment and especially in piping, in the form of pitting and rust-induced perforation. The effect of these gases increases further as the proportion of fresh feedwater and the system's operating pressure increase.
To remove O2 and CO2 gases, boiler feedwater must be passed through a deaerator and degassed.
If boiler feedwater is not freed of these gases, the service life of the whole system shortens. Corrosion and perforation can occur in the boiler and in the equipment and piping that make up the system.
Heaton® Deaerator Systems are complete package systems designed and manufactured in compliance with the TS EN 13445 code.
